When someone asked you what is wrong and you say, “I’m just tired” they will simply agree and tell you to take a nap.
But you know this exhaustion is not something easily resolved by sleeping.
You cannot just shut your eyes and wake up okay.
You need a break from your brain, your heart, your life.
Sometimes you just need to get away for a while.
You know that you’re going to be okay; but you still feel awful.
You know that people love you; but it doesn’t feel like they do.
You know doing something will make you feel better; but you just don’t know how to.
You want to be well; you just can’t seem to get there.
Sometimes we just need to take a step back and do what it takes to get better.
we are allowed to terminate the toxic relationships in our lives. we are allowed to walk away from those who hurt us. we are allowed to be selfish, and angry, and unforgiving, and we don’t owe anyone an explanation.
